An overlay is usually manufactured using transparent plastic, polycarbonate or polyester. Where and how the sign will be used will guide the best choice of materials.

Considerations for overlays and adhesives

Plastic materials have different thicknesses and surface structures. Overlays can be produced with self-adhesive backings. The choice of adhesives depends upon the materials used. There are adhesives that fix to the toughest of surfaces, such as powder varnishes and polymers.

All jobs are performed in our workshop at Torvinge industrial park in Linköping. Our high quality, full-service in-house production makes us very competitive.

 

Production method

Unlike the regular decal printing, overlay printing is done on the backside of the plastic, which protects the printing against mechanical and chemical damage.
